Snapchat has recorded the most growth seen since 2016 in the last quarter according to statistics. With up to 187 Million daily active users, this platform is on the rise, especially popular with the younger generation with almost a third of adult users aged 18 to 24 years.
The main use for this platform is for users to connect with family and friends through photo and video content, and it is yet to be determined how effective it is for advertising and brand development from a business perspective.
Personally I love the fun filters and visual aesthetics that can be created and shared with friends. I don't see much benefit (yet!) through advertising or business promotion through the Snapchat forum, although maybe that is because I am outside of the age demographic most popular with this platform!
